Red Star Surf & Yoga Camp consists of 3 houses perfectly equipped to match surfer´s needs. Each house can fit around 10 guests. All the houses have a terrace or a roof terrace with sea view, as well from some rooms you can see the whole beautiful Famara beach. Free WiFi, BBQ, fully equipped kitchens, cosy living rooms with big LCD screens, surf movies and super friendly and helpful staff. Surf lessons and surf guiding are offered daily. Yoga from Monday to Saturday.
Location
Our village is stretched along the beautiful beach of Famara. From any house it´s only a few minutes to the beach or to the reefs. 8 surf spots of very different levels are located in walking distance, around 20 more within 10 mins drive. To get here from the airport is just a 25 mins drive with a rental car or a taxi. We can get you a car for around €100/week or you just take a taxi which is around €35 each way. Our main office and surf shop is located on the main road just in the heart of our small and authentic Spanish fishing village.

Kids Surf Lessons
Children who want to participate in surf lessons will have the time of their life! At Red Star Surf & Yoga Camp Lanzarote, we provide surf lessons for total beginners to advanced level in a safe and fun environment. The surf lessons are held in waist depth water, depending on your child’s surf level, with the instructor always nearby.
Beginner Surf Lessons
In your very first lesson you will learn the basics of surfing, which includes water safety, surfing etiquette, wave dynamics, how to paddle a surfboard, how to catch your first wave and of course, how to stand up and ride your first waves. Every day you will learn something new, however our beginner surf lessons emphasize safety and the basic surfing fundamentals.
Intermediate Surf Lessons
After a short assessment we will help you to find out your surfing level and tailor the right training program with specific exercises for your level of surfing. Depending on your abilities and goals we will help you to focus on the right exercises and to choose the right equipment.
Advanced Surf Lessons
Our advanced surf lessons emphasize helping surfers to have more fun, gaining more control and a better flow in more challenging waves, mastering the fundamental surfing maneuvers such as a solid bottom turn and different types of top turns or cutbacks.
Private Surf Lessons
You can choose the time, duration and what you want to focus on during your lessons. The instructor will help you to set and achieve your surfing goals, taking into consideration your level, personal wishes and priorities. Surf Guide
You can bring your own surfboard, or pick one from our well stocked surf shop and school. We take you to the best uncrowded spots of the island, so you can concentrate on catching waves instead of driving and searching. This way you will save a lot of time, money and avoid unnecessary hassles with the local surfers.

We offer Yoga daily in the afternoon. You need to sign up in time, the places are limited

It's a beach breaks with various spots on it. Depending on the weather conditions, it's siutable for all levels of surfing. There waves almost all year round. Beginners and intermediate surfers can surf here 365 days a year. The best time for advanced and professional surfers starts in September to October when winter swell kicks in.

The best waves occur in the north half of Lanzarote. The Island has consistent year round surf and 22 degree plus sunshine meaning you don't need a thick wetsuit and in the summer you can get by in a shortie or even just shorts!
Lessons often occur on the Lanzarote's most reliable surf beach, Playa de Famara, on the north west coast of the island. A beautiful white sand beach that stretches for 6km and is surrounded by the stunning Famara mountain range. Another great beginners area is the north east of the island in Arrieta.
Surfing Lanzarote is all about the north part of the island. The area from Playa de Famara to La Santa has been described by the Stromriders Surf Guide as "one of the best surf locations in Europe!" This stretch of Lanzarote picks up all the north and west swells and contains a mix of surf breaks facing numerous different directions. So no matter what way the wind is blowing there will always be a range of peaks to surf.
The more intermediate/ advance area is 'El Centro' in La Santa, in the north west and not far from Famara, it’s a solid reef break, best at high tide.
Travel around the north of the island and you will find many different breaks including some world class 'lava reefs'. Each September the WSL World Tour comes to town with the 6 star prime event. The worlds best surfers compete for the €125,000 in prize money.

How did you like the accommodation?
Accommodation is clean and basic. Perfect location for the beach as well as the main surfing beach there’s a small bat/cove which is lovely for swimming when the tide is out. Several bars and restaurants within 5 minutes walk ranging from cheap and cheerful beers to a fancy restaurant and everything in between.
I would recommend a kettle in the kitchen. We only had very large saucepans so making a quick coffee in the morning was a bit slow!
How were the surf lessons?
Loved the instructors. I have had many lessons and surfed plenty back in the UK but have never mastered standing up, thanks to the instructors I can now consistently stand!
