Beach Break Surf Camp is a boutique surf resort located beachfront in Playa Venao, Panama. Our resort is owned and operated by lifelong surfers who share your passion for the sport. Location
Pedasí's coast offers a variety of breaks for surfers. The most popular of these is Playa Venao (also known as Playa Venado), at Pedasí's western end, which was chosen for the 2007 Central American Surf Championship.
Venao has a reliable south swell, with left and right breaks over a sandy bottom. Nearby beaches Ciruelo, Madroño and Raya also offer good surf, with hollow tubes at all three under optimum conditions. Come and don't miss that magic hour where the wind, tide and swell come together to give you the waves of your trip! Surf Lessons we offer:
Kids Surf Lessons
We offer professional and friendly surf lessons for children. Give them an experience they'll never forget with classes that can include professional photographs. All day unlimited board rentals available for kids enrolled in a Surf Camp.
Beginner Surf Lessons
If you are just starting to find your passion for the waves but are still a little hesitant of the ocean, don't worry! Our beach has sand bottom and different waves for all levels of experience. Plus our professional surf instructors will be by your side guiding you throughout the process.
Intermediate Surf Lessons
As you get more advanced in your practice it is important to have hands on coaching to help you improve to your full potential. Our intermediate level classes include more in depth instruction on how to read the waves and position yourself as best as possible. Intermediate classes can include professional photography and video analysis on request.
Advanced Surf Lessons
Some of the best surfers in Panama were raised on the epic swell that hits the shores of Playa Venao. The point can reach 2-3 feet overhead and can push any surfers' abilities to the limit. Besides the amazing wave directly at our front door, our staff is knowledgeable enough to sneak the more advanced surfers off to near by secret spots for those that want even more.
Private Surf Lessons
There is no faster way to improve your surfing than one on one coaching. Get the personal experience of having one of our professional surf staff by your side throughout your 1 hour and 15 minute private lesson. Photography of your session also available on request.

Playa Venao
Level: All Levels
Playa Veano is a large, cresent to shape beach break offering a wide variety of waves ranging from beginner to intermediate/ advanced. The sand bottom allows beginners to practice safely without worrying about rocks or reef. The wide open layout allows the surfers to spread out and dissolve the crowds.
The main point in the middle of the bay receives bigger swell and can reach head high and above. The frequent offshore winds and south swells make this beach one of the most consistent and favorite waves among locals.

Travelled solo
How did you like the accommodation?
The accommodation at Playa Venao was great, especially being shared dorms. The surf camp was fantastic, I plan to return with my kids sometime in the future, since I noticed kids enjoyed it as much as the adults. The entire experience is family oriented.
The town is under development, so it was still a quaint experience to see the surf town in its authentic & natural beauty. The town had a restaurant near Beachbreak, called "La Bicicleta". $5 plato del dia was a good option for me when hunger set in. I would rent a car next time, people I spoke to mentioned it was easy, gas was inexpensive, and you have more freedom to check other beach spots along the Santos province.
How were the surf lessons?
The surf lessons were fantastic; professional approach to describing the methodology behind the basics of surfing; and the practice of attempting to surf was well-done, in the sense the instructors helped push me onto the wave to initiate the steps to take to ride it. Well done!
