Our group classes have one instructor for every two students. When you get to Surf Travel & Friends, we will give you a technical brief, depending on your skill level, going through the techniques you’ll need to know when we hit the waves. This helps ensure you’ll have a great time and a safe experience with Puerto Escondido’s waves.

Location

Puerto Escondido is the Surf capital of Oaxaca, in the Pacific Ocean's side of Mexico's coastline. We have a small airport with flights directly from Mexico City, Monterrey, Cancun, and Queretaro. Less than five minutes from the beach at Punta de Zicatela, where most of the international surf tournaments take place. We have a big international community that has made Puerto Escondido their home, which gives place to the best of Mexico's cooking, but also international restaurants at very affordable prices. We are roughly an hour away from Huatulco, a bigger tourist town along the coast of Oaxaca, and roughly 6 hours away from Oaxaca City and 6 hours from Monte Alban; one of the countries most visited archeological sites. Great food, great waves, and great weather.

We have plenty of natural areas you may want to explore around Puerto Escondido. And we are thrilled to be one of the areas where turtles place their eggs every year, so we take part in hatching season. You may be able to witness and help new turtles find their way to the see! Dolphins and some small whales also visit our beaches.

We have four main beaches in Puerto Escondido: Carrizalillo, Puerto Angelito, Zicatela and Bacocho. Our surf house is located in Zicatela, what is traditionally called "La Punta".

The Place

In our Surf House each suite has its own private bathroom and kitchenette so you can cook your own meals if you want to. It also has hot water, ceiling fan, WiFi, and all the essentials for you to enjoy your stay. Our Surf House holds 3 different suites: Tropical, Oceano, and Bugambilia.

We also have a house with 3 rooms, 2 bathrooms, full kitchen, pool, and a palm roof to keep you safe from the sun and enjoy the famous sunsets of Puerto Escondido after a day at the waves. The house also includes all regular amenities for up to 7 people.

Our suites are only available to guests that may take surf lessons during their stay with us.

All suites include full bathroom, a small kitchen area, and closet space. WiFi available, and some of the best restaurants in Puerto Escondido within walking distance.
