The Place

Atlantic Coast Surf School combines a kickass rock and roll surf holiday, enabling you to meet other like-minded individuals and enjoy different cultural and surfing experiences. From beginner to advanced, come and join the Atlantic Coast family! They explored Portugal's Atlantic Coast extensively to find the best waves for you to offer on any given day for whatever level you are. The quest is to help guests to experience and learn surfing, safely and efficiently no matter if it’s riding the first wave or the first barrel.

The Santa Cruz Surf House is an adapted family villa in the heart of beautiful Santa Cruz. The house is social, full of features, and has cool decor. The property offers comfortable rooms with two distinct floors. There are four shared rooms on the ground floor and five double rooms on the first floor if you want a little more privacy.

Large and fully equipped kitchen, daily maid service, large lounge, and free Wi-Fi are some of its facilities. There’s also huge terrace with barbecue area, pool, and a large garden. There are many common places of relaxation where you can listen to music, watch a movie, or relax in the garden after the long day of surf. You can also chill out by the pool or check what’s up in Santa Cruz.

"The best experience ever...would definitely recommend!!
All of the instructors and the staff were amazing...they really made this whole experience. The instructors were very professional and extremely patient.Myself and my sister had the best time ever. The surf villa was perfect..we really enjoyed the pool and the BBQ at the end of the week. Big shout out to Steph, Tomas, Marta and Johnny (love you guys) xxxx"

Kids Surf Lessons

We offer surf lessons from six to sixty nine year old. We have a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Kids wetsuit and adapted soft surfboards are included.
We give our students the best support and help to advance fast.The goal of the lessons is to familiarize you with the sea and waves to make you feel comfortable in the water and have the feeling of riding a wave.

Beginner Surf Lessons

We have a 1:6 instructor to student ratio. Top quality Wetsuits and Soft Surfboards are included.
In the BEGINNER surf courses we teach you the right take-off technique to make you stand on the board. The goal of the lessons is to familiarize you with the sea and waves to make you feel comfortable in the water and have the feeling of riding a wave.

Intermediate Surf Lessons

The INTERMEDIATE surf courses are for surfers who are already familiar with surfing the whitewater. We want to surf the first unbroken waves with you and try to teach you the first turns. We will give you good tips to get your surfing to the next level.
In our lessons we treat surfers of all levels individually, to give them the best support and help to advance fast.

Advanced Surf Lessons

So you are able to surf green waves and you feel comfortable in waves up to 1.50 m? Then you will be taught in our ADVANCED surf courses. Your surf coach will go surfing with you and try to spot and correct your mistakes. You will get valuable tips so you get the chance to optimize your surfing and improve your abilities on the board during the time of your stay.

Private Surf Lessons

Furthermore, it is very important where the lessons take place. Surfing in Peniche or Surfing in Santa Cruz, we take you to carefully chosen spots where the conditions are best for you.
