Playa de Somo

Playa de Somo is placed at Cantabria in the north coast of Spain and is one of the surfing magnets of Spain. Santander city is in front. It receives good swells all year arround and has over 7kilometers of good quality waves, perfect for all levels.

Stretching from Santander to Bilbao has an incredible supply of surf breaks: from protected beaches and coves to those directly exposed to the rolling waves of the Cantabrian Sea.
Somo's main surf beach is Playa de Somo . It is a long white sandy beachbreak with many peaks that are perfect for learning how to surf and for intermediates surfers. It is probably place to base your self as Somo Surf camps are some of the best in Spain.
Santander's main surf beach is Santander (El Sardinero). It is also a beach break wave which is great for beginners and for intermediates.
Santa Marina, Breaking off the island of Santa Marina this wave is a world-class righthand reef break. Freight-train walls and barrel sections. Works from about 5 foot upwards meaning it is for the only the very experienced. Best on the rare combination of a large swell and a E or NE wind, usually only a few times a year. OK on all tides but dangerous rocks in front of take-off at low tide.
Langre Average beachbreak sheltered from strong SW and moderate W winds. Needs a reasonable swell to work. Low to mid tide only.
20 mins East is the surf town of Noja with Ris and Ajo surf beaches. Great for learning how to surf
Explore to the west and east and you will find incredible surf at Spain's most famous wave, the World Class wave Mundaka.

- Your deposit is non refundable but can be used for the same property/surf school within one year of your original booking.
What happens if the surf school cancel the Surf Lessons?
In the rare occasion that conditions do not allow for the surf lesson to go ahead you will be given a full refund.

How were the surf lessons?
I travelled with my girlfriend who did not knews to surf and at the end the vibe and the atmosphere of the school and the place motivated her and she learnt surf, something I would had never expected. Capi and Nacho, the owners are family and they will treat you as that. I improved my surfing with them and had an awesome surfing holiday.

Nuca habíamos surfeado y nos hemos enganchado al surf desde el primer día. Mola mucho como se curran las clases y la forma de enseñar que tienen. Se ve que llevan años, lo viven y repetiría sin dudarlo. Escuela muy recomendable.

Awesome school and amazing people. Loved this school, the vibe, how professional they are. They have been teaching for over 25 years and obvioulsy U can feel that. Fun people and excited to know those guys. They also have cool options for accommodation where to stay. Recommend this school and camp 100%.

Siempre había oído hablar de esta escuela, pero nunca me había coincidido. Por fin me anime a subir y es la mejor decisión que he tomado. Gente profesional y seria, que viven y aman lo que hacen. No me extraña que esta escuela funcione tan bien durante tantos años, porque su dueño Capi es surfero de los de antes y solo con verle la mirada, sabes que el surf es todo para el y sabe trasmitirlo a su equipo. Escuela número en España, doy fe.
